Terms and information disclaimer

These terms explain how to use and understand information published by the Hilltop Park Residents' Association.

They apply to:

• this website, including its articles, documents and campaign pages; and
• posts made by the Facebook Page Hilltop Park - Chippenham RA in the Hilltop Park (Chippenham) Residents Association Facebook group.

They do not apply to posts or comments made by other people in that group. Facebook itself is operated by Meta under its own terms.

General information, not professional advice

We are a group of resident volunteers. We publish information to keep residents informed, explain issues affecting the estate and describe the association's work and campaigns.

Nothing we publish is legal or financial advice. It is also not a substitute for advice tailored to your own circumstances. This remains true when an article or post discusses subjects such as estate charges, property documents, company arrangements, residents' rights, refunds, costs or possible savings.

Before making a legal, financial or property decision, check the documents that apply to you and take advice from an appropriately qualified professional. For example, individual transfers, leases and other property documents can differ even between homes on the same estate.

Any figures, estimates, examples or possible outcomes are illustrative unless we clearly say otherwise. They are not a promise or guarantee that a particular refund, saving or result will be achieved.

Accuracy and updates

We take reasonable care when preparing what we publish, but it may contain an error or become out of date. Articles and posts reflect the information available when they were published. Laws, guidance, charges, plans and other circumstances can change.

If something is important to a decision you are making, check it against your own current documents and an authoritative source. If you spot something that may be wrong or out of date, please contact the committee so we can review it.

External websites and services

We sometimes link to websites and services operated by other organisations, including public bodies, managing agents, Facebook and Crowdfunder. A link is provided to help residents find relevant information; it does not mean that we control or endorse everything on that website. Those organisations are responsible for their own content, availability, terms and privacy practices.

Responsibility

You remain responsible for deciding whether information is relevant to your own circumstances and whether to act on it. We are not responsible for content published by other Facebook group members or by external websites and services.

Nothing on this page excludes or limits any responsibility that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

Sharing our content

You are welcome to share links to our public pages and posts. Please do not present altered or incomplete extracts in a way that changes their meaning, or suggest that the association endorses something when it has not done so.

We may update these terms when our website, publications or online presence changes. The current version will always be published on this page.
